Vacancy for a Nutrition and Health Projects Manager

The European Food Information Council (EUFIC) is looking for a Nutrition and Health Projects Manager to manage and implement EUFIC's nutrition and health projects, and also specific activities for EU-funded research projects, in which EUFIC is a partner, in the area of nutrition and health.

Key responsibilities: Plan and implement the nutrition and health annual programme and nutrition and health communications in EUFIC. Ensure the scientific accuracy of all EUFIC nutrition and health outputs. Implement specific activities in EU-funded projects, in which EUFIC is a partner, including budget and time management. Take a pro-active role in identifying collaborations and new project opportunities for EUFIC involvement. Manage junior staff working on nutrition and health-related projects.

Educational requirements, experience and skills
The successful applicant should have/be:
A degree in nutrition and health, with a PhD in nutritional science, public health, or related subject. Science communication experience an asset. A minimum of 3 years work experience in nutrition and health following their PhD. Fluent in English (written and spoken), plus another European language. Interested in, and a passion for, nutrition and health communications, able to communicate scientific information in an understandable way. Good networking skills and a team player. Proactive and highly motivated individual that can act independently. Open-minded, creative, with a capacity of achieving consensus. Enthusiastic to work in a growing dynamic and highly motivated team of 16.

Job conditions: Based in central Brussels. 65,000 - 80,000 Euros annually plus benefits (depending on experience and qualifications). Start date from 1st May 2013. Permanent position. Will involve European travel for Project meetings and conferences
